Diverging Diamond Interchanges (DDI)

The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is making plans to reconstruct two US-20 interchanges in Rexburg in the summer of 2024. The interchanges are located at:

  • University Boulevard (Exit 332)
  • SH-33 (Exit 333)

The interchanges will be rebuilt using the Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI} design.  ITD anticipates closing each interchange, one at a time, during construction. The full closures will allow crews to construct the interchanges much faster and complete both interchanges in one construction season.

STAY UPDATED:

In the summer of 2024, construction will occur on two US-20 interchanges (Exits 332 & 333) in Rexburg! ITD is working to finalize construction plans and will host a meeting in the spring for the public to learn more about construction plans and anticipated impacts. Prepare for the new interchange design by visiting itdprojects.idaho.gov/pages/us20rexburg to see visualizations about how to drive a DDI.

ITD plans to build one interchange at a time so that both exits are not impacted at the same time. Each interchange is estimated to take 6 weeks of construction time.
