Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is the front line of the Rexburg Police Department. They are the first to arrive on scene to begin the investigative process for each call they are given. They patrol the city performing building checks, looking for suspicious situations, enforcing violations and acting as a deterrent to any criminal or unlawful activity.

The Patrol Division at the Rexburg Police Department consists of 22 uniformed officers. They are split into different shifts to be available all day, every day to ensure the citizens of the city receive the help needed.

Training
To ensure our officers are ready for every situation they are required to attend monthly trainings to learn new skills and refresh on past learned skills. Nearly all the training is in-house with officers certified to teach in different areas.

K-9s
Within the Patrol Division we have three certified K-9 teams. While performing their regular duties as a patrol officer they also aid in specific calls which require their unique skills.

SWAT
The Rexburg SWAT team is a designated unit of law enforcement officers that is specifically trained and equipped to work as a coordinated team. Their main purpose is to resolve critical incidents that are hazardous, complex, or unusual that may exceed the capabilities of first responders or investigative units. The Rexburg SWAT team trains and works with the Madison Fire Department and other jurisdictions to help resolve critical incidents not only in Rexburg but all around Southeast Idaho.
