Community Policing

The focus of our Community Policing Division is to strengthen and support the community through interacting with the public, teaching, and supporting the local school district. This division consists of four School Resource Officers, two Animal Control Officers and a Lieutenant.

D.A.R.E.
Every school year our D.A.R.E. officers teach the 5th Grade students (an average of 400 students) at Madison Middle School the D.A.R.E. curriculum. Through the class the students are taught good decision making skills and how to make responsible choices. They learn how to use those skills with drug and alcohol avoidance, bullying, and stress.

Bike Patrol
During the summer when school is not in session the School Resource Officers ride bikes through the parks and trails across Rexburg to provide better coverage of the city. The bikes make areas inaccessible by vehicle accessible, such as: ball fields, parks, playgrounds, & bike/walking paths. They are able to interact with the families and children who are also riding their bikes, playing, and spending time outside.

School Resource Officers

The Rexburg Police Department has four School Resource Officers located at Madison Middle School, Madison Junior High School, Madison High School and Central High School. They are also assigned to each elementary school within the Madison School District #321. These officers are able to interact with the students and protect the schools from any dangers that may present themselves.
